Portsmouth Day 2

Leo fancied yet more retail therapy but then we headed to the beach for more exploring.

It was a lovely sunny day so we kept cool by sitting close to the hovercraft launch point.  It meant every time that a hovercraft came and went we got a lovely blast of cooling water in the breeze.

As Leo and I were strolling along the wharf a lady came up to us beaming away and stopped us to say how much Leo looked like me.  We had a lovely chat and she said how amazed she was that Leo was 16 as he was so tall - that made Leo beam too!  It made us chuckle s friends and family often comment on the resemblance but we have never had anyone stop us in the street and comment before. Cheeky Leo said he wasn’t sure whether he should take the resemblance as a compliment or not!

We wandered along the sea front and learned all about the history of the area thanks to a talking telescope.  Then Leo had fun in the arcades and we both had fun in a pirate themed mini golf course.  Leo won a free game at the end by completing a challenge so he saved that for when Ian finished work and they went around the course again.

At the end of the day a load of school kids came down to the beach and all had fun in the water.  It looked like an end of school tradition - great fun.
