A long canal walk

The rain held off and we had a very enjoyable 25k walk between Linlithgow and Ratho Basin and then down to the A8 where we arrived with 10 minutes to spare before the crowded 5pm bus from Edinburgh arrived. Everyone had reserved their seats as requested so we all got on.

Highlights included feeding carrots to a couple of adorable donkeys, coffee at the Park Bistro, lunch on the canal wall and a much needed tea and cake at the Climbing Wall. I think we looked as cheerful and energetic at the end as we did at the start, and no one fell asleep on the bus.

The final stage next month will look and sound very different as we walk into Edinburgh and the Festival.
