Another heron
I love to see the herons at the loch, and I can't resist trying to get the perfect photo. Today's is not perfect, but I like it! The herons are usually on the island so I have to zoom in, but I was quite pleased with this.
This morning we attended the funeral of Davie..... he was from 'The Village of East Kilbride'.... born in the village and lived all his life here. When the new town was built there became a trend for the old village people to make sure that they were known as the original old villagers. They always felt very special, and we all indulged them in this.
Davie was a font of information regarding flowers, worked as a gardener all his life, eventually running his own landscaping business. He could identify every plant we came across on our hikes, he was an enthusiastic member of our walking group. He was also an elder in the Old Parish Church for over 50 years, and a well respected gentleman. It was sad to say goodbye, but it was a very heartening service of celebration and joy that he had gone to glory. (see extra)
In the afternoon I had a walk around the loch, where I took the picture of the heron.
