Sgwarnog: In the Field

By sgwarnog

Mark

I walked out along Moorside, down across the pastures, along through the woods and back up.

I caught some sunny spells but by the time I arrived at my favourite meadow the rain had set in, hence all the Comma butterflies closed up their wings and perched on the bracken and bramble waiting for it to stop. Apologies if I repeat myself every time I post a picture of the underside of a Comma’s wings, but that little white mark is how this butterfly got it’s name.

In the fields I came across an active wasp’s nest just a couple of yards from the path, although on the other side of a tree. I was just thinking about pausing to take a picture when I reminded myself of last week’s events and kept moving.
