Kiefer plays Brighton

To Brighton this evening to see Kiefer Sutherland and his band. The gig was to be at a venue called Chalk but was moved further along the seafront to Concord 2,  because Chalk was too close to the Royal Albion Hotel which went up in flames over the weekend. My daughter, Jen, is a big Kiefer fan and first dragged me along to see him a few years ago ago at the Union Chapel in London. The venue tonight is smaller but very atmospheric, set in to the arches under the promenade and with what I assume are Victorian vintage upper windows (see extra photo). I'm usually dubious about actors playing at being rock stars but Kiefer is actually pretty good and his band was excellent. Its just a pity that some of the crowd were more interested in engaging in loud conversation with one another, interspersed with frequent trips to the bar, than actually watching and listening to the performance.
