A last minute need to fly to Glasgow from Sumburgh. Fortunately I qualify as an Island Resident for the Air Discount Scheme otherwise the cost of the return flight would have been £620. That level of fare isn’t going to encourage a family to visit the Isles by plane. Appreciate that if you know in advance that you’re travelling the route it can be quite a bit cheaper but sometimes you need a quick trip away in unforeseen circumstances.
