in amongst the scrub oaks

I had a nice hike in our neighborhood open space this morning. My friend held Laney's leash while we walked so that I could focus on taking photos. And when you have time to look there is so much to see...flowers, birds, textures, colors. I picked this one to post because the little sunbeam coming in from the left really made the asters pop in the shade.
