Tall Flower

Preparations for the arrival of the California Golden Girls is very much underway. The Calmac Ferry between Ullapool and Stornaway are booked. Quite a palaver! but finally achieved.

I have worked out the route in detail and ensured that we pass through interesting scenery. There is an opportunity to spot the resident of Loch Ness.

All overnight accommodation is booked.

Pat is very keen that we visit the standing stones at Callanish.  I have just downloaded a report on the latest archeological findings. It is only 1299 pages! Light reading.

No sooner is this done and we receive news that one of the golden girls will not now be able to make the journey. Very sad, but hopefully she can join us for Thanksgiving.

The flower is a Hollyhock. Nearly 2.5 metres tall. The blooms are at my eye level which is about 1.7 metres. The low temperatures we are experiencing just now seem to be inhibiting from blooming above or below these.
