Harvest time

The sun was shining so I went to have a look at the blackcurrants in the fruit cage and as they were beautifully black, I started to pick them. I couldn’t believe how many there were! It was relatively easy to pull clusters of the berries from the branches but I was unable to complete the task as I was getting rather wet from the shower that decided to come my way. I will have to complete the job later in the week. 
The extra shows a companion that I had for some of the time. As it seemed more intent in guzzling the leaves rather than the fruit, I left it in peace, but I do wonder how it’s parent managed to get into the fruit cage to leave an egg that resulted in this monster!
