Say hello to the Silver Spotted Skipper • Another first sighting of the summer! I sat on the deck with my camera staring at the butterfly bed wishing and waiting for a monarch. I found this fellow on the milkweed before he flew across the backyard to this butterfly bush. His wings were closed most of the time so I’m unable to show you how colorful his brown and orange wings are, with their patches of white • The air is heavy with humidity today, plus a hazy sky caused by ongoing wildfires in Canada.
