The Taff Trail

After taking granddaughter to school, we drove straight to Castle Coch, Tongwynlais, nr Cardiff (South Wales UK) to do a 21 mile circular cycle ride with our friends Steve & Julia.

After a few miles we were in Bute Park alongside Cardiff Castle where we sat out and enjoyed a coffee before continuing on The Taff Trail to Penarth where we spent a good hour with my dad. I think he really enjoyed the company.

We continued over Cardiff Bay Barrage where I took the photo' of the Pink (Fishermans) Hut whilst a RIB waited for the barrage gates to open. In the distance you can make out Cardiff landmarks over the Bay gates. The other way is a good view over the Bristol Channel towards Weston Super Mare.

We were back at our cars by 3pm for our friends to travel back to the Cotswolds. Not long after we got home it started raining. At least we had lovely dry weather for our ride; summer, eh?!
