Who needs glass fronted forecourts

This gagage is still going strong in one of our local villlages make a nice change to see this type of business still going on.

John Henry and Osworld Percival started their garage in 1919 in the Avenue, Comberbach, from a second hand army shed. They had the first telephone outside of Northwich. and a Taxi business said to be the first in Cheshire. The original sign can still be made out on the front RHS door of the garage, taken from the cab of their first truck which carried grain from the farms to the Marbury Mill in Marbury Hallow for grinding if you head to Anderton Lift from here a house in the hallow on the right is the location of the old mill. The old hand pumps can still be seen at the side rear with Pratt's Petrol sign still on it. Pratt's was the first petrol sold, then later changing to Amoco & Esso.

As it was shut I'll call in next time I'm cycling past and get a blip of the old pumps, glorious day today to be out cycling although the bum doesn't agree as its only the 3rd time out over a few days going to take some more miles yet till it firms up a bit more
