For Lorraine
What a beautiful sendoff, it really was an incredible day. An amazing horse drawn. Carriage scottish, Piper and African drums. Lorraine’s mother was Scottish from Glasgow and her father was from Jamaica. I wish was to be buried with them in the cemetery by this beautiful tree. It wasn’t possible to bury her with them, but it was possible to have her remains cremated and inter them alongside them, so that was decided.
It was a beautiful service, during which lots of family and friends gave very moving speeches, the celebrant did a great job of managing the time allotted and said some beautiful things which were very comforting.
Afterwards, it was off to a local country club, incredible food to fabulous DJs, lots of dancing, including learning a dance and performing it to Candy by Rick Brown. More speeches, Lorraine’s best friend. Annie asked me if I would sing, so I sang lean on me by Bill Withers and got everybody singing along and clapping, which was lovely.
I am immensely proud of my son Zebedee, he really has been a rock for Natalia throughout all of this, he helped to carry the coffin and he also made a lovely speech at the wake.
Gulliver and Erin came to the funeral and so did Lola. Gulliver and Erin had a Performance, so had to leave afterwards at Lola stayed.
Afterwards we went back to Natalia’s house with her brother, Bradley, and his girlfriend, picked up Remix the dog and came back to Teddington, stayed up talking and playing with the dog, what a day. It really was a beautifully planned and executed sendoff.
