The shearing gang back this morning to clip the rest of the hill ewes from here. Managed to rake up enough folk to help so that I wasn't needed,so went and hitched up the mower again and opened up another field of grass. A heavy downpour about 11.30 am , so came home, loaded up the Landover with feeding and went to check all the heifers down the road. Back by 2pm and headed off to mow again. Spotted the shearers heading home along the road at 5 pm,so not a bad days work. I was finished a second field by 7pm and only one shower this afternoon.
The forecast is dodgy for the foreseeable, but as my dad used to say,you can't do anything with the grass until it's cut. So it will be a case of catching any chance we can to get it baled.
