Near Portknockie is the Bow Fiddle Rock with a natural sea arch looking like the tip of a fiddle bow. The long sloping stack is the “fiddle” joined by an arch to the smaller “bow”. Just further along the cliff walk towards Cullen is a great view of the Whale's Mouth which is a massive deep tunnel-like rock arch.
Contrasting the rocky headlands and tiny harbours is the long sandy beach reached by a new footbridge at Lossiemouth. Our plans to walk for several miles were scuppered by the weather which had deteriorated and we ended up visiting a most unusual folk museum at Fochabers.
