Black & White Houses

When they first appeared in Singapore at the end of the
19th century, these houses were commissioned by wealthy individuals. Singapore's expat society comprised members of the colonial administration, bankers, shipping magnates and plantation owners.

Fewer than 500 exist today and they are owned by the government.
They are on a 2 year leased term via an open bidding system.
