Life Stages

There are those who love roses, others who favor daisies, but I confess to preferring dandelions. Early in the season they're a first food source for bees; later harvested as greens as a Down East Maine delicacy and better than a Spring tonic for what ails you according to Aunt Martha; a childs toy when gone to seed and, of course, there's always Uncle Ezra's dandelion wine, a favorite with the Bowdoinham Falls Volunteer Fire Department ... and the adventure, hardscrabble as it may be, continues.
