Under the arch
It has been a very busy day ! Mrs AMK came up with the plan to celebrate the start of my year as Rotary president by inviting everyone to our house for lunch . We are now a very small club but we also invited past Rotarians and that was greeted with such enthusiasm that we ended up with 45 people for lunch !
We borrowed extra tables and chairs and 2 gazebos and positioned them in the garden but the great worry was the heavy rain and gales that has been threatening in the weather forecasts for the last 2 weeks and has been very much in evidence recently.
However our prayers must have been answered as we certainly had the strong winds which wasn’t ideal for the gazebos and one had to be hastily dismantled but the rain stayed away - we were very lucky !
In the end of the day it turned out to be a great success and old friendships were rekindled. 2 friends came to help, food and beverages were enjoyed and the garden which is much more my comfort zone was much admired.
The blip shows the hostess on the left with 2 of our guests in the arch that has become smothered by a profuse growth of perennial sweet peas - it is a shame they don’t have the lovely scent of the other sweet peas.
