Ouch!

About 8 pm last night the lights went out.
The culprit was this tree that apart from totalling the van also brought down the power cables in the village.
The interesting thing is that this is the second tree in this garden to pull down power cables. This one only caused a power outage of a bit over an hour, the last one was a day and a half for some of the village.
Because it is a Conservation Area the trees have preservation orders on them. The property owner asked for permission to trim the trees but the council said no.
Strikes me the cost of the power line repair and recompense to the van owner is clearly the responsibility of the council.
