It was a sunny Sunday afternoon so I decided to play tourist and head out with camera to join the visitors to Ambleside. I sat by the lake and watched the steamers come and go, a dog swimming for a stick, canoeists and children feeding the ducks. Waterhead car park was packed yet 100 metres or so along the lake these deck chairs in front of the youth hostel sat empty.
