Dish for snacks and dips and things

Today we had arranged to have a garden party for 40 or so friends in the village.
We have studied Saturday's weather forecast for the last two weeks and it has been consistent rain, sometimes torrential and occasional thunder. The only changes made over the period was the wind that was due to pick up to 45mph plus.. 
We renamed it to a "BringaBrolly party and then, because of the wind and the rain, an Inside Garden Party.
All morning we were making preparations, cooking, washing glasses and chilling wine with the very dark clouds whizzing across the sky above us. Come two o'clock arrives everything was ready, plates, glasses, food and drink all in position. The wind still gusting across the garden, waving the tops of the trees around madly but there was no sign of the forecast rain. We checked on the computer and all the anticipated rain was no longer being shown. Someone somewhere is looking after us.
Everybody turned up and, although we spent most of the time in the house, the garden was used even though it was very windy. Lots of kind remarks despite the damage reeked by the weather in the last few days.

The dish in the blip was bought second hand, it appealed to us as it has a Mexican/American feel about it. This is slightly spoiled by the "made in China" stamp on the bottom
