Checked off all but one
It's 5pm in Portland, and we've been to Sue's. Eliana was there, and there was painting, eating, and water play (it's 97F/36C right now). We had plans to go to a playground, and Sue was willing, but I ruled it was too hot, much to Evan and Eliana's displeasure. The two of them staged a protest, chanting, "Park! Park! Park!" but I was immune to their cries, much as our politicians are immune to cries for justice. Sometimes Baba can be intransigent. So it is.
I realized on the way back to Beaverton that I hadn't taken a single photograph, so when we stopped for Boba tea with ice cream (coffee with ice cream for me)--I fixed that. Now we begin deep cleaning the house. Their mom gets home at noon tomorrow and they leave at 3pm for Seattle, there for an 8:30 a.m. appointment at the passport office on Monday and, if all goes well, departure Wednesday for Greece.
Both parents FaceTimed last night, both looking ragged. Cristina flew from a show in Los Angeles to another in Denver on a delayed flight, arriving around 10 p.m. last night, reporting to work at 4:45 a.m. today. Seth called from Romania at 8 a.m. his time, his first day off in three weeks.
Show business is brutal, really. People who aren't in it have no idea.
