Split the journey north into two by stopping in Altrincham. We lived here 2019-2021 after returning from Australia. We left during lockdown (in Greater Manchester at least) so never saw it fully reopen. We arrived and then just went straight out for dinner at our favourite Indian restaurant. Memories of lockdown takeaway where you were only just allowed in the door of an empty restaurant. Now full of diners and still just as delicious. Ice cream from the Market House before bed.
I always find it odd visiting a place I’ve lived. Like you know you way around easily but still somehow out of touch with the place.
