The big 50

Birthday and as my niece said it’s a big one!
Can’t believe I’m 50!
Age is a funny thing, When I was 40 I was not in a good place, my hopes of being a mother were dashed with failed IVF and I wasn’t where I thought I was when I was 40. Anxiety and depression reared their ugly head.
The last decade has taught me that it’s ok to not feel perfect. That through my lovely boys, nieces. Surrogate nieces, god children that my place in history is cemented.
As I embrace my next decade, I’m fitter, in a better place mentally and have made peace with that I’m menopausal and will never have a child. Never gets any easier but life is for living. On my tombstone it will definitely have Gina embraced life and inspired others to do so too.
