Bowed but not broken

Woken by hound scrabbling at his bed.  It seemed to go on for ages.  Difficult to reclaim the same quality of sleep after that.  Nonetheless got up early to walk the hound as rain forecast. 

Quick market shop then back home as rain commenced.  Ran round living room with the vacuum cleaner and did a bit of tidying before lunch.

Giovanna arrived after lunch.  My apricot and almond cake went down well as did Giovanna's lemon and dried cranberry cupcakes.  It was good to catch up.

The rain has been relentless today.  Still it saves me watering new plants and has replenished the water butts. 

The rain has weighed down branches.  Hopefully there won't be any breakages.

More wet stuff forecast apparently though this might change by tomorrow.

A talk by Mehdi Hasan which looked like the summing up of one side of a debate 'Anti-Zionism is Anti-Semitism' came up on my social media. A comment lead me to a YouTube site called intelligence squared where I'm about to watch the debate in full.  Interesting other topics debated by a variety of speakers.
