Sorry ..................

.................. it's yet another map - the last one, I promise (well, for this trip anyway!)  :o))

This is the route Elaine (pipersmom) and I travelled after we met on 21 June in Boston and before I dropped her off in the early hours on the 30th - covering approx. 1300 miles all told.

By the time we got into our red Mustang convertible and hit the road it was around 20.30hrs  (8.30pm for those of you not au fait with military times!) - arrived at the hotel in Danvers Ma, dropped the bags and headed for the bar.

Danvers to Bangor, Maine trying to stay off the freeways as much as possible.

Bangor ME to Saint John, New Brunswick Canada - crossed at Calais (not the one in France), which the border lady called Callus - really??

Saint John to Belfast Maine (via Machias, Jonesport, Milbridge, Gouldsboro, Ellsworth and Verona Island)  for three nights in a fabulous two bedroomed cottage - whilst there we went to Bar Harbor, toured the Acadia Park, viewed the Penobscot River from 420ft up, drove down onto Deer Isle and generally acted like tourists!

Belfast to Brunswick - again via the coastal route hitting Boothbay and Bath.

Brunswick to Salem New Hampshire (not the witchy one in Massachusetts) taking highways instead of freeways.

Salem NH (with the singing frogs) to Woburn (seems it's Wooooburn in the US!) but a very circuitous route via Plum Island, Rockport and Gloucester.

Woburn to Boston Logan airport very early on the Friday morning for Elaine's nightmare trip home .....  ... see here ....

.................. then onward I went, alone, to Long Island NY (map for that a couple of days ago!!)

We had an absolute blast - time spent travelling with a great friend is never to be missed.

This is Thursday uploaded on a soaking wet Friday afternoon - I hope I can get a flower photo without getting me or the camera drenched!!!
