Heron and Goose

Today has been a lovely sunny day. This afternoon we went to Auckland Castle as the gardens were open for the National Garden Scheme (yellow book). There was also a plant sale and I was spoilt for choice - settled for an astrantia and a verbascum in the end. The gardens were beautiful.
We came home and after tea decided to go for a walk across the field to Hardwick Park. There were lots of birds on the lakes including swans and cygnets. On the small lake we saw a heron and a large goose. They were quite close to each other but just ignored each other and the rest of the ducks.
