A Place to Go
When I was young, the NSW Government Railways still ran some of those wonderful old "wild west" style passenger carriages with landings at each end. Inside were lots of slightly sepia black and white framed images of exotic places that the railways could take you. Magic stuff. This is my impression of what they might have made of the "exotic" Grose Valley in the Blue Mountains. Who knows. Somewhere among all those old carriages may have been an image very much like this one. Sigh. Nostalgia ain't wot it used to be.
As an extra I have attached my picture from the Thirlmere NSW Railway Museum. I saw several examples of the rolling stock types I refer to. Some of them were actually imported from the USA and might ACTUALLY have been designs used on frontier trains, back in the day. Ahem. "This 'ere train ain't big enough for the two of us, podner .... REACH.!!!" Yeah.
