Miss Alice

Most of the day I spent at Waddesdon Manor welcoming and talking to visitors. The House was pleasantly busy and everyone appreciative of the many fine items on display.

This is a relatively modern piece of pottery created by Kate Malone; I had the pleasure of photographing Kate both at Waddesdon and in her studio when she was working on this project.

Miss Alice was the sister of Baron Ferdinand and ran the house after her brother's death. The extra shows the pottery representing him. Ferdinand was tall and thin but Alice was the opposite!

A few heavy showers today but mostly our visitors stayed dry.
