Good, Bad, and more Good News…

Hello Everyone,

I was in the hospital in Southampton to see the hip surgeon this morning… It was a good meeting, and he was happy with my progress, and we talked about what I can and cannot do next. The plan is that over the next six weeks I do more normal activities but really be mindful of not overdoing things. From 12 weeks onward is sort of more of the same but I can be a bit more focused on my training on the bike. 

Next May/June I have to go back there and have an x-ray of my hip and another meeting with the surgeon and hopefully all will be signed off for good, but I have access to them all in the hospital should a problem occur in the meantime.

So, that was the Good News… The Bad News is that my belly button operation that was supposed to happen on Monday was cancelled… I think there was some sort of admin mix up because they came up with all sorts of excuses that I was able to simply talk away by what had been said and recorded in the past. I am a reasonably mellow chap nowadays, but this really annoyed me, and I was angry. I am now waiting for the operation to be rescheduled. GRrrrrr… 

The last bit of good news is that I am officially allowed to drive again tomorrow… YIPPY! For sure as I have been going stir crazy here for the last six weeks.
