Rosé

We heard today that the European Union has decided after all not to allow rosé wine to be made by mixing white and red wines. There has been a campaign against this move by winemakers in France, Spain and Italy who want to preserve the traditional method of making rosé with red grapes and removing the juice from the skins early in the process before the wine takes too much of the colour. We drank to this victory in the garden at lunchtime with a glass of traditionally made rosé from the Domaine des Pascales in Gabian.
