I thought at first this was a Grasshopper, but on consulting my little Collins Insect Guide I'm now thinking it's a Roesel's Bush-cricket because of the pale margin around the pronotum flaps.   I stand to be corrected of course.
He was inside on the kitchen wall but I gently placed him outside where he promptly hopped onto the brick wall.   He's quite near the patio door so he might make his way inside again.   Of course Luna had to I investigate but he wasn't fazed by her going close and seems happy to just rest there..
After all the hype that we were forecast rain, we still haven't had any so I've been busy watering again before dinner.
