King of the Castle

Cooler and windier today, just perfect for a walk around the park and lake at NT Felbrigg.  H and I couldn't resist a walk around the gardens which were looking magnificent.

This fellow was definitely ruling the roost and looking particularly splendid. Apparently they eat a lot of insects (and of course provide their own unique manure) which outweighs the disadvantage of the digging they do.
