Barley breeze

Our wedding anniversary today (and son & d-in-law's) and we decided to go out for lunch at a restaurant in Arbroath.
First we went for a walk along the cliffs and down onto the beach and passed loads of noisy, smelly kittiwakes with fluffy chicks. The wild flowers are always good at this time of year and today they were spectacular with the first part of the walk being the most colourful. I tried to get pics to show it but none did the display justice, though I have made a collage of 3 which gives some idea (extra).
Lunch was excellent, fish-based and tasty.
On the way back we called at son's to pick up some shelving units they wanted rid of and we might be able to use in shed/garage and once we'd dropped them off went to pick up my bike from its service. This proved a major expedition due to diversions. Since last Monday we have only been able to go one way along the road at the bottom of the road and the diversion either involves lights and traffic or longer on country roads. Today we chose the full country road option only to discover one vital one was closed so a partial re-tracing of route. On the way back we chose the traffic/lights option which was very slow, only to find when we got to the closed road it wasn't so we could have saved at least 2 miles and 15minutes! It'll be closed again tomorrow but the other end so will be easier for us.
A run with the group in the evening was completed just before the rain started.
