WOOOOSCH!
It was Trans Am Weekend at Road America in Elkhart Lake, WI, U.S.A. Loads of fun shooting those bad boys. But in addition to Trans Am the Route 66 Karting Series was also there racing at the Motorplex. Truth be told, there were more spectators there for the 66 than for the Trans Am series.

These are Briggs & Stratton powered GoKarts and, depending on class, that power varies. The BIG karts for the older drivers will reach 80+mph (120+kph); for the smaller kids, the karts will top 50mph (80+kph). There's also weight requirements and for the under weight drivers lead bars are added to equalize the mass for each kart.

There are several age classes starting from age 5 on up to adults. Loads of fun to watch and to photograph. After the obligatory shots I was messing around with slow shutter speeds...just to amuse myself. Turns out to be a lot of fun but only few keepers among all the shots I made. It's difficult to pan those quick little karts and get something in focus.

This is one that worked out...I just got lucky that the foreground kart blew by the #329 kart as I was panning. He just came outta nowhere and ...woooosch, it was all over.
