Esmé and her Piñata

Esmé and her friends whacked away at a piñata, at her fourth birthday party; they took turns with the long stick, steadily becoming both bolder and better at it, but as soon as it broke apart and dumped a rather small amount of loot (bits of candy and bits of plastic prizes), they quickly gathered it all up, put it aside or handed it off to their mothers, then ran off to the swings again before the ice cream birthday cake showed up.
