apart - minded mama and papa

The word dementia comes from the Latin de meaning "apart" and mens from the genitive mentis meaning "mind"(www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/142214.php)

This "happy" couple married in 1950, divorced in 1986, lived since then each one in his/her own life, each of them happily, then less happily again, alone and then not, and then alone again... until they had to move to a senior residency - seperately.

That's where Life had them find each other again.

And Dementia had them forget they were divorced.

End of the story : they (almost) live together like an old couple. They quarrel, then enjoy each other's company, the way old couples do (in my imagination;) ).

And my sister and I end up having both our parents back:))? Well, almost... since they happen to forget that we are their children.
