Small part of the main control circuit board for a Neff microwave oven. As it's a built-in type, replacing it is expensive. Quotes for repairing it are similar. Suspect that most repair places would swap the whole board, and as that without labour costs £215 to you or me, a friend asked if I'd have a look. As it's a microwave, and they're very dangerous inside, I wasn't too keen. But once I eventually figured out how to get this safe bit apart (it took a while, but turned out easy), the fault was very simple - the "Start" switch had broken off the board. Judging by the number of folk looking for an answer to the same fault, there's a design weakness/flaw here.
Think I've found/ordered a suitable replacement, well, not one, as they sell them in multiples of ten... which isn't a problem when they're only 12 pence each! If that sorts it, there'll be one very happy family, with plenty spares.
The less used "Stop" switch is still in place.
Didn't find anyone on the Internet that would divulge how to fix the fault, or how to take it apart, only repair trade companies looking to do the work and charge (excessively) for it. Some things don't change...
