To eyes that are as bright as stars

Day three…. We woke at eight and four of us were down for breakie at nine

Boy and Jess were going to head off quick. They wanted to find an Apple Store to change Jess’ cover. We three bimbled round to the tram stop and travelled the length to the train station to lodge our bags for the day.

Heavens but this is where the awful part of Frankfurt resides. The entrance way is chock a block full of junkies and beggars. They were injecting there on the kerb… dirty, filthy and some of them deformed

We walked straight into Boy and Jess and together we evaded the begging and started to walk to the shopping area.

After about ten minutes I was exhausted. 34 degrees? Where did that come from? Himself me and Tooli stopped for iced coffee and the other two went on. Then we headed for the tram and headed back to the touristy area so that Tooli could Grab a Frankfurt Tee

We had a bimble round the shops and rather amazingly bumped straight into Boy and Jess again. Together we all headed to the eating area found a nice outdoor space and sat down to enjoy our last couple of
Hours together

How we laughed

And how we ate

And then it was time for them to leave.

No crying. We’ll be seeing them again in three weeks

himself Tooli and I decided to Decant to the River thinking it would be cooler. No. It wasn’t. It was still 35 degrees

After some time with the geese and a wife crazy mix of germans we moved to a river side bar

Joyous.

Eventually it was time to Get back to the station pick our bags and make our way to the airport

Disaster then struck. We were told we couldn’t check in as the flight has been over booked and they had placed us on standby

They wouldn’t be able to tell us if we had a seat until 9pm

We Moved to the departure lounge - and Si left us for the loo. While he was gone a very officious airport official screamed at us all
To move out of the space and have our passports checked as we were a security risk

Once back in I approached him and asked if we would be able to leave and shop and he turned and said ‘no, sit down’.

After forty minutes I noticed some people leaving (with care) so I approached him again and this time he wouldn’t meet my eye and responded with a curt ‘if your boarding pass has been checked you may leave but must carry your boarding pass and passport at all times. No apology no acknowledgement of his error

At nine tooli asked one Lufthansa staff if we had confirmed seats yet. And she said we had to wait

Twenty minutes later the staff changed and I went up. I said Why does it appear that everyone else has seats on the plane but we don’t

This lady said. No there are twelve people with no seats. But I will make an a announcement in ten minute

True to her word in ten minutes she shouted us up and we received our boarding passes but the plane had been delayed half an hour.

We sat nervously as we watched at least eight people run in at high speed shouting ‘it’s been delayed too we’ve made it

Until we were sat in our seats we weren’t convinced!

At 1015 pm we boarded …. Himself a couple of rows in front of us and Tooli and I loving life in the emergency exit.

It was a terrible flight. Lots of turbulence and a really weird banging noise underneath

Finally we landed yayyyy. I have never left the airport so fast in my left we were on the road and heading home at 1130….

Home after a disastrous visit to MacDonald’s… we headed to bed and that was it
