Bursts

Packed, locked up and drove to A’s where we shared the cinnamon bun and doughnut I’d bought with me from Room & Rumours then went for a good long walk along the bridle path and across the river and back via the (very minor) road. It was very muggy and warm despite being mainly cloudy…no idea how A managed in a jacket as well as a long sleeved top!
Home and hung some washing out then ended up having a bit of a nap before nipping over to Duns to get the ingredients to make a rather good chicken club sandwich which we devoured using home grown lettuce. Realised as we arrived in Duns something had been going on…turns out it was the common rise today as the culmination of their summer festival. Bunting everywhere and lots of riders on their way home all dressed up. We also missed the Dalkeith country show today….bit frustrating but we ended up just having another nap when the rain started….what a pair of slobs!
