And now she is home
Here Alice is about to start the journey home. We took her to Darlington Station and waited until she was on the train. I couldn’t believe how organised she was, how confident that she could cope with trains and the Tube, as she had two changes to make. She had a heavy bag, a basket with all she could need on the journey, an iced coffee in her own cup. She was concerned that someone might be in her seat, but we watched as she sorted that out no problem.
Not bad for a sixteen year old.
If only all trains were as reliable and efficient as the London North Eastern Railway. It's definitely the way to travel.
We have had a lovely week with our grown up granddaughter.
