house project #1

This is our old and slightly bent front door from our house (only have a few more days left there!).

Had a (great?) idea to turn it into our new desk. The cables will poke through the letter box and we'll put the spy hole back in (I might even try to stick a picture to the underside if anyone is inquisitive enough to peek!).

... well, that's the idea anyway!

Stage 1 was chopping the rotten bottom off - done!

Stage 2 is the stripping! Paint stripper didn't quite work so Colin (father in-law) resorted to using the blow torch - much more manly!! Sanded down its now looking ok!

My favourite part of this activity is the good use of safety equipment!
