Hot and Dry

It’s sunny and unpleasantly hot, with upwards of 32°C for most of the day. B and I met for a walk this morning. We only walked for one hour and stayed in the forest, where the temperature was still bearable. 


Later I went to see my mother and take her some (mostly edible) souvenirs from Switzerland. She was even more confused than usual, probably due to the heat, but was happy to see photos of my trip and sample some Swiss chocolate with her coffee.


After a week in the green Alps, I can’t help but feel sad at how dry and parched the landscape looks around here.
