Instead of riding on the road from Sandsend to Whitby, I prefer to drop down on to the concrete promenade to enjoy the view. As the tide was well out today I decided to take the bike down on the beach and ride along to the west pier on the firm sand. 38mm/42mm front/rear 'gravel' tyres coped with the occasional bit of softer sand no bother.
