Museum

Today, as forecast, was museum weather: low cloud and occasional rain in the morning, leading to lower cloud and steady drizzle in the afternoon. Fortunately the National Museum of the Faroes is excellent. We started with the indoor collection that tells the physical and social story of the islands. The outdoor museum is an old farm, preserved from 100 years ago. After walking around the outbuildings, we spent a good hour inside the farmhouse, touring it and chatting with the guide.

After that, we went back into the town centre to eat and book hiking tickets for tomorrow. Taking another of the free local buses up to the stylish Nordic House cultural centre, we put together a plan for Sunday, given that the next two days may see the only good weather we'll have during our stay.

Tonight we dine out properly for once: it's not cheap here!
