Not a native tree

Slept late this morning, and enjoyed a leisurely breakfast before doing some admin tasks. I started another book by LJ Ross shile enjoying my lunch. Mid-afternoon I left for a long walk to the Titirangi roundabout. S had a Yoga lesson with one of her two teachers to coincide with that.

On the way back, not far before Woodlands Park Road comes off Scenic Drive, I saw a mountain pawpaw on the steep slope below the road in amongst regenerating native bush. It is not a native to New Zealand. But then its not on a mountain even though the Waitakere Range is quite high. I am pleased with the photo.

One of the builders we had for the renovations of the House at Snells Beach was outside the A-Frame when I arrived back. He was sussing out the task of replacing the crumbling ponga log retaining wall. The current wall is doing little retaining, and there's little room to manoeuvre between the house and the current bank. He appears relaxed and confident that they can do a good job.
