Small Skipper

With a busy few days ahead, and about to run out of milk,  I did the "weekly shop" early and on the way home popped into Hawley Meadow for a walk.

The buttercup filled meadows of a few weeks ago have now turned into a sea of grasses waving in the breeze dotted with clumps of wild flowers such as creeping thistle and tufted vetch. Flitting among them were the butterflies. There was a magnificent marbled white (extra), but I don't think I have ever seen so many small skippers around before, so one just had to make the main image.
