The last GASP

I had an interesting walk today. From A's house you can see the Derwent River and as we'd driven along it I had seen some great boardwalks so I decided today was the day. I headed off following my nose but discovered that there are hardly any ways that a pedestrian can access the river which is barricaded behind a four lane highway. Eventually I found an overpass which then required me to walk through a school (wouldn't be allowed in Vic me thinks)to finally reach the river. The walk was lovely and ended at the Glenorchy Art and Sculpture Park which was established in 2011. Unfortunately little has been maintained and this appears to be the last (of) GASP. The walk ends at an amazing covered pier designated as a community space but slowly being destroyed. Very sad....could have been a great asset but perhaps access is the issue.
