Banded Damoiselle

I've featured these before last year but it is such a pleasure to see them again I thought I'd share them again. These beautiful insects appear in June along the river in the country park they are very quick displaying for the females. When I first came to work near here 8 years ago you where lucky if you saw ten now there are hundreds. I put it down to the quality of the water in the river improving. I'll try for some better shots with 20D and macro lens in the next few weeks.
