Sick Tawny Frogmouth

Came across this guy sitting on the ground near my office window at home yesterday.

They are pretty docile birds at the best of times, but this one let me get really close.

It was still there a few hours later and when I went to see if it was injured, it flew up into the jacaranda tree.

It's been there ever since. Not moving for about 24 hours now!

The galahs that routinely roost in the jacaranda are very curious about their house guest.
